CREATION
I started with some musk materials - velvione and habanolide which are my two favorite that I have come across so far. I like the animalic quality of velvione and habanolide leans more elegant. Great, I have nice clean white musk to build off of. I chose to add my two favorite base materials to get the ball rolling. Ambroxan and Iso E Super both add a nice woody sensuality to this fragrance. Now I had a great base and I could play around with the fragrance more. I decided to enhance the wood notes with the addition of ebanol. Wow, I am glad I did. Perfect.
I really liked what I had at this point and was afraid I would mess it up but it was pretty simple and smelled like the end of a perfume so I pushed myself to go a bit further. I added some dihydro myrcenol for the bergamot notes and I decided NOT to add linalool because I want to learn to detect it better and so, wanted to smell a fragrance without it. I decided to stop after this because the addition of these two materials turned my soft and elegant musk/wood aroma into the most freshest summer cologne and I was very pleased with it. I knew that I had a great fragrance to wear to work and I didn’t want to ruin that so I decided to work with it, literally.
Overall I am pleased with this fragrance and it is probably to most perfume-y fragrance I have made thus far. I thought it was very light and pleasant and I got a couple compliments. My coworker said he would buy a bottle of it!
